#1 SPF MOISTURIZER
The first product on the list of summer wellness essentials is SPF moisturizer. While the summer sun can boost your mood and improve your energy, it can also take a toll on your skin. Sun damage can lead to premature skin aging such as sun spots, fine lines, and wrinkles. It can also increase your risk for skin cancer.
Make sure to protect your skin, especially your face with a daily SPF moisturizer. Mineral-based sunscreens combine zinc oxide and titanium dioxide and sit on the surface of the skin rather than soaking in. They are a better option for sensitive or acne-prone skin and better for the environment.
One of my favorites is the Juice Beauty SPF 30 Oil-Free Moisturizer which uses all organic and cruelty-free ingredients.

#2 GUT-FRIENDLY FOODS

You’ll likely want to spend a lot of time outside, being active, or hanging by the pool this summer. To look and feel your best, you need to be fueling yourself with gut-friendly foods. These include foods that aid digestion and will help improve your gut health to promote regular bowel movements, reduce bloating, and help you feel your best all summer long.
Gut-friendly foods are musts on your list of summer wellness essentials. Gut-friendly foods often include probiotics and prebiotics which can help improve digestion. Fresh fruits and vegetables are sources of prebiotics. They’re rich in fiber and high in vitamins and minerals.
As for probiotics, think fermented foods such as kimchi or sauerkraut. Try to eat less processed foods and red meat. Additionally, try to drink less alcohol which can be inflammatory and harmful to your gut.
You can also incorporate anti-inflammatory foods such as bone broth and a variety of herbs and spices in your meals. These can help aid digestion, balance hormones, and help reduce inflammation throughout your body to improve your health and help you look your best this summer.
#3 HERBAL TEA
If you want to look and feel your best this summer, try to drink more herbal teas. Caffeine can cause the stress hormone cortisol to spike. In addition, juices are often high in sugar which can increase your blood glucose levels.
A healthier drink option is herbal tea. Herbs can help reduce inflammation throughout your body and aid digestion. Yogi Tea is one of my favorite non-toxic brands that offer a plethora of great tasting options to sip on all summer long.
#4 HYDRATING LIP BALM
Another product to add to your list of summer wellness essentials is hydrating lip balm. We often forget to protect our lips from the sun. However, they are susceptible to sun damage just like any other area of your skin that is exposed to the harsh summer rays.
A hydrating lip balm such as Aquafor Lip Repair or Glossier’s Balm Dotcom Lip Balm can help protect and hydrate your lips during summer.
#5 BPA-FREE WATER BOTTLE

Nowadays, everything is made of plastic. While plastic products are often cheap and affordable, they can contain BPA, a harmful chemical that can seep into your foods and beverages and disrupt your endocrine system.
During summer, plastic water bottles can get warm if left in the sun or in your car, increasing the likelihood of BPA leaching into your drinks.
While there are some BPA-free plastic water bottles, glass or stainless steel water bottles are an even safer option to protect your health.

Another must on your list of summer wellness essentials is an outdoor workout guide. Take advantage of the warm weather and summer sunshine.
Getting outside and getting your heart rate up can help boost your mood and improve your overall health. Plan your workouts for the week to create your own guide or look up an outdoor workout guide to get started.
Of course, make sure to stay properly hydrated and avoid strenuous workouts midday when the summer heat is at its peak. Instead, try an early morning or evening low-impact workout such as yoga, walking, hiking, jogging, swimming, or biking. Take advantage of the warm weather and fresh air while moving your body.

#8 HYDRATING HAIR MASK
Along with your skin, your hair is susceptible to damage during summer. The hot, dry weather and harsh summer sun can leave your hair feeling brittle.
To rehydrate your hair, heal split ends, and protect your hair during summer, try a hair mask. You can try a DIY recipe or try one from Olaplex or Ouai to moisturize your hair and prevent dry hair during summertime.

#9 WELLNESS JOURNAL

#10 LYMPHATIC MASSAGE KIT
Lymphatic drainage massage is the last of the summer wellness essentials to remember. Lymphatic drainage massage can help release toxins and reduce inflammation in the body.
Lymphatic massage can increase lymphatic drainage to reduce puffiness, water retention, and bloating. Tools such as a dry brush, a Gua Sha tool, and lymphatic massage kit will allow you to administer lymphatic drainage massage on yourself more easily.
For more information on lymphatic drainage massage, you can explore Healthline or Cleveland Clinic. You should always consult a medical professional before trying this at home and for optimal results.
