#1 HAVE A SELF-CARE DAY
When you’re feeling alone, it’s easy to want to distract yourself. While distracting yourself can help raise your vibration and shift your focus onto more positive feelings, it can also make it more difficult to tune into your emotions.
It can make it tough to recognize the root of your loneliness. Prioritizing self-care during times you feel alone can boost your mood and help you tune into how or why you feel lonely.
Take a bath, paint your nails, try a face mask, or even meditate. A self-care day can help you relax and calm any negative thought patterns you may have.
#2 SPEND TIME WITH FRIENDS
Another way to feel less lonely is to spend time with friends. Friends can offer great advice and even better company when you feel alone. They will support you and listen to your thoughts when going through a difficult time.
Even if all you do is chill out and watch a movie together, surrounding yourself with good company can relieve your loneliness.
#3 REACH OUT TO FAMILY

Family can also help you feel less lonely. Talking or spending time with family can relieve stressful feelings and guide you through your loneliness.
You don’t have to share every detail about why you feel alone, but try to lean into their support. They can usually offer advice or simply just listen when you’re going through a rough time.
#4 DO SOMETHING FOR YOURSELF
When you’re lonely, it’s easy to let negative thoughts and self-talk to takeover. You may be hard on yourself and or invalidate your feelings. But, know that it’s okay to feel alone sometimes.
When these feelings come along, do something that makes you feel good rather than being tough on yourself. Do something you enjoy or that speaks to your interests. Treat yourself.
That may mean splurging on a spa day or getting your nails done. It may mean going for a walk, shopping, or letting yourself sit back and relax.
These activities seem simple, but they can help distract you. They can make it easier to stop dwelling on all the negative emotions that seem to consume you. They can help boost your mood and make you happier even if it’s only for a short time.
#5 HANG OUT AT A COFFEE SHOP

Another fantastic way to feel less lonely is to get out of your house. Get off your couch and actually go somewhere. Sometimes if all you’ve been doing is staying at home by yourself, it’s easy to sit and dwell on those lonely, negative emotions.
Even if your motivation is low, force yourself to get up and get moving. Head to your local coffee shop. You don’t have to talk to anyone. Simply being around people working, surrounded by chatter, can reduce those negative emotions and make you feel more motivated and less alone.
#6 READ A BOOK
One of my favorite activities when I’m lonely, is reading. Books are the perfect escape. If you want to completely distract yourself from your loneliness, try reading a genre that allows you to escape reality for a bit.
You could try fantasy, mystery, or historical fiction. You could also try contemporary fiction if you want to read something you can relate to and connect with the characters. Sometimes reading about characters going through similar emotions or struggles can validate your feelings and relieve some of your loneliness.
If you want to get to the root of your loneliness, try a self-help or personal growth book. Many times, these types of books can provide insight into why you may feel certain emotions. They can also help you better understand the root of your loneliness.
#7 SPEND TIME WITH YOUR PETS

If you want to feel less alone, spend time with your pets. Pets are great companions especially when you’re down. Sometimes you may not want to be around tons of people or may not be ready to talk about your feelings with friends or family.
In that case, spend time with your pet. They won’t judge you or make you talk about your feelings. They’re just there for you. There to listen, to cry on, and make you smile. Sometimes that’s all you need to feel less alone.
#8 TURN ON A SHOW
Another tip to feel less alone is turning on a show. If you don’t want to leave the house and you’re by yourself, turning on a show in the background can trick your mind to feel less lonely.
Hearing people talk in the background while you do things at home can boost your mood. You could also try watching a show that makes you laugh to distract your mind from your lonely feelings.
#9 DISCOVER A NEW HOBBY

To feel less lonely, try channeling your energy into discovering a new hobby. Sometimes loneliness can make you unmotivated and unproductive. When this happens, try focusing your energy on your interests.
Trying a new skill or learning something new can be the perfect way to get out of a slump. Learning something new will help you feel good about yourself and boost positive emotions such as self-worth or self-confidence.
Feeling less alone starts with shifting your focus and doing things that stimulate positive emotions. Learning a new hobby can distract you and boost those positive feelings.
#10 TAKE A WEEKEND TRIP
The last way to feel less lonely is by taking a weekend trip. Shifting your frame of focus or energy may be all you need to feel less alone.
For some, the best way to do this is a change in scenery. A short getaway can help distract you and boost your mood. Going someplace can shift your focus and mindset to be more positive.
While you may still feel lonely, getting away and distracting yourself from dwelling on negative thoughts can help raise your vibration.
